Maya Paris from SL brought this to my attention: BBC is letting you hang out in their newsroom via Oculus…is that immersive journalism too? 🙂 http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/internet/posts/Virtual-Reality-the-future-of-TV
I don’t know if it’s related but back in 2008 Nobody Fugazi in conjunction with the ALCU organised an event regarding G’tmo, the location looks similar to the one in the video but may well have been a different place.

It’s a shame there’s not an archive of old Second Life sims for us to look up!
Ahhhh there was so much vibrancy around these things in SL at some point – Seaton Hall Law School doing stuff [ http://virtuallyblind.com/2007/09/11/seton-hall/ ] and PBS etc etc etc…where are they now? Little blast from past here: my ugly haircut on PBS FRontline = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6ypEpspqYY
And a nice little piece on Nonny’s work from the BBC http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-28661220
