just a quick post today, highlighting a normal length show about an extraordinary book by tracy sorensen. “the lucky galah” depicts australian life in the 60s, narrated by a galah [yes that is this pink grey cockatoo bird, plentiful on the island!] who is capable of tuning into human frequencies … in more ways than one i might add.
loved the book, must spend the rest of my life to convince non-australians to pick it up!
enjoy the conversation:
and now a few links, pertaining to the subject at hand:
- the original live stream of the sl book club
- the post live discussion with tracy
- yes, you got that right: the show took place inside a uterus!
- more impressions from show/post show [set made by ruby!]
- shyla prepared some nice slides, showing tracy’s crochet work, a damning quote from “lucky..” and tracy’s drawing, trying to make sense of her cancer diagnosis. her next book [working title “rage”, it will be told from the perspective of her bodies’ organs]. lower right = tracy’s hometown, a stand-in for the fictional port badminton in the book:
- and yes, the book “the lucky country” by donald horne has been loaded onto my pocketbook so before the next munich oktoberfest i may learn about the psyche of some of the most ardent fans of bavarian beer culture ….

- what else is happening in second life? sl18b = our teenager is coming of age and i am moderating a talk with two experts!
