show 286: the magnificent jeffrey ford is here

show #286

jeffrey ford has won tons of awards and his work has been translated into over 20 languages. jeffrey teaches, questions his own talent, is funny as heck and his stories are just boiling over with good prose and imagination. draxtor is appaled that this man is not a household name in germany so the agenda ’21 is clear: make jeffrey great in deutschland! enjoy the conversation:

  • the original live-stream from wednesday’s book club
  • the post-game hangout with jeffrey including an appearance by peter pan ….
  • jeffrey’s “the girl in the glass” is an incredibly tight mystery thriller set against depression era usa but it is also more timely than ever in its depiction of a society, plagued by inequality and racism because let’s face it: the unscientific bs of eugenics and other “theories” is being peddled again, just wrapped up in fancy academic wording ….
  • i need to mention that jeffrey is a fan of heinrich böll and you should read him like my mother made me read him [and i came out ok as an adult no?]
  • one more special guest on the book club next week [anna vaught!!] and then year end hangout with some great surprises …
  • what else is happening in second life? holidays that’s what !!!
  • what is happening in the physical world? well: frank zappa, one of the greatest american artists of the 20th century, would have turned 80 today so let’s watch some rehearsals of the “yellow shark” concerts from ’92 …. [i miss him!!]

the drax files radio hour is a weekly production of draxtor … and media for all!
