The difference between pranking and trolling is friendship. A prank between friends is a form of endearment, testing limits and learning. Trolling is causing discomfort to others just to entertain theirselves or others at the expense and misery of others. Pranking is used in gangs as a team building exercise. I’ve seen in Second Life at Camp Hardnox a summer camp for SL Kids, they would do special pranks to each others cabins, it was a vital part of the fun.
