This was a really interesting show. Especially the video. I’ve been waiting since mid September for the official opening of the new Space platform. As far as I understand Adam, the platform will be opened before end of the year (without the need to get in touch with the operators). Is that right?

A region with the size 12 square kilometers is fantastic. This is about 2197 times bigger than a Second Life region. If my math is correct, then you get with 10 Space regions for US $75 a month the equivalent of 21970 SL regions. This is as big as the whole current SL grid.

Hi Maddy, yes correct! I had a lot of fun! Now I need to go back and we need to show the building aspects and all that. It was just sooo relaxing to just walk these endless spaces….

  3. Very informative episode. You certainly peaked my interest. Thanks as always for another great episode. 🙂

It’s not a case of what type of people are allowed to create, its about the laws that govern whats possible on these platforms. HyFy is as open as you can get, even more open that Second Life, but the key feature to that is that anyone can build, rez, script in each others spaces, TOGETHER, LIVE. Everything i’ve read and seen of Sansar suggest that only the creator can build a space, and that everyone else is just a guest. That you only view the creators work AFTER the creator has ‘published’ the experience to be viewed by guests. This is a HUGE difference to what we as SL users are used to. Sansar sounds like it’s giving major control to the creators of those spaces that will limit what you as a guest can do. HyFy on the other hand is open to allowing users to rez what ever they want at a party and all the weirdness that comes from spontaneous collaboration. This is what i think some of the tech journalists are writing about.
In Sansar you will not get people being attacked by flying a flying penis. Griefing or be caged thanks to Sansars ‘closed’ nature, but that also means no spontaneous races where users rez random vehicles, no fun tricks and stunts. I think the monster party videos sum up ‘Second Life’ crazy https://youtu.be/bWvyJ05TdC8?t=7m12s

    1. We are still in the speculation stage Loki! Hold your horses before we know more 🙂

went back into space today! Some big improvements. They seem to have solved the newcomer, what do I do, problem, that sl struggles with (hint: reward with a few coins). The graphics are awesome, can see this as a great place for talented world builders, to try stuff out. Yet there is a lack of people here! It got me thinking about Sansar and where are the millions that Ebbie dreams of coming from? The little I know of Sansar, I would say Space is already there. If you have the skills you can upload your experience and others can go visit. Just don’t get to disappointed if you can count visitors on one hand. I wish Space future success. Just waiting for some interaction, a door that opens a chair that I can sit on. Then I just might spend less time in sl.
