    Yaaaa no Oculus !!!

  2. Willow says:

I like this format and it does NOT have so much Oculus and VR. This is the first complete Drax Files I’ve watched/listen to all the way through in over a year. Usually I end up hitting fast forward through most of the show. Adding the visuals is a plus.

I think sims are dying for a combination of two reasons. One Jo mentioned it is like a long running TV show. After a while people just get tired of the same old same old and want to find something new and different.

The second is a combination of the high cost of sims and the doubt caused by the coming of Sansar. I think a lot more people are like me than like Jo. I’ve sold or abandon the land I had since I just don’t know what is going to happen, I just kept about a quarter sim so I can still play a little and have a place to change clothes.

Why pay a high tier when you don’t know what is going to happen. Even though in my opinion what has leaked about Sansar makes it sound and even look incredibly dull and very unfinished.

great show, nice to focus within sl, love what Jo is doing. As to closures, the loss of any cool sim is always sad. Within my six sl years, seen some of my favs go. Happily new ones do arrive. Not sure what the impact of SANSAR will be. Just hope sl will survive. It will always be more important than SANSAR, in my opinion.

I’m very glad to hear that you’ll shine a light on the madness that is the “events” craze.

I have nothing against events in principle, but the current state of affairs is hurting everyone.

Shoppers line up to buy the exact same discount items as their neighbors — they may get a great bargain, but individuality goes out the window.

Meanwhile, creators lose business at their main stores and are pressured to constantly come with up yet another product to meet the next deadline in this breathless cycle. As a result, quality sometimes suffers — not to mention that many are simply driven out of business.

And don’t even get me started on the impact on value perception (admittedly a pet peeve of mine.)

This is a race to the bottom.

Great show, I like having something to watch instead of just something to listen to, even if you guys would just sit in Jo’s attic. Jo’s new sim looks great, but it seems to have a deficit that many places in SL have, there is not much to do. So why not add hunts or activities or riddles that visitors have to solve. Just an idea.

    1. Jo Yardley says:

      Hello Haro!
The sim is far from ready, more time zones to be added!
And in the 20s-30s-40s and 50s-60s zone the emphasis is on dancing and going to the cinema, but in the other zones there will be other things to do as well.
But yes, we’re also thinking about setting up a little game of finding something in each zone, solving a mystery, etc.
One thing I’m already adding is ‘find the time machine’ there is one hidden in each zone!

So more to come, much more to come 🙂

Jo, I enjoyed the new sim and even 1920’s Berlin. I look forward to further expansions. I even went out and got some vintage clothing so I wouldn’t be so out or place.
